Warm-blooded friends,

When the anthropophagi come for dinner, they seek a high-protein meal, and they don't like it overcooked! Find out more in The Anthropophagi of Xambaala, by Corey Walden

Fellows, the campaign is going well, but we can still use your help to achieve the next two stretch goals: bookmarks, and a gatefold cover for Xambaala

Please share the following link at your favorite social media site (FaceBook, Twitter, G+, etc.), blog, or forum: http://kck.st/2FKThHO

Your support is greatly appreciated. And when the campaign is through, the above pictured fellows would love to have you for dinner. No, really!

Cheers,

Two Weeks! Also, Artist Spotlight on Val Semeiks!
about 6 years ago – Sun, Apr 01, 2018 at 11:00:52 PM

Greetings fellows,

Two weeks remain for our latest Kickstarter campaign, HYPERBOREA: Beasts and Cannibals. It's been a great campaign, and the response has been very positive, thanks to your generous support.

I'm happy to report the following accomplishments:

  • Writing: 100% complete.
  • Editing: 50% complete.
  • Maps: 100% complete.
  • Covers: 100% complete.
  • Interior illustrations: 82% complete.
  • Layout: Design and style established. Work to commence this week.

Here is common question that applies to many Kickstarter campaigns, due to potential delays that can crop up: What about your stretch goals and add-ons?

  • Kraggoth Manor T-shirts: Design complete and uploaded to our shirt company. After we collect our BackerKit surveys, we will place the order.
  • Additional Art: Before we achieved this stretch goal, I'd already begun to assign additional art pieces. Note that the total indicated above for interior illustrations (82% complete), accounts for the new assignments, too.
  • Bookmarks: Although we have yet to unlock this stretch goal, the bookmarks for both modules have already been designed and are ready to be printed.

So, we are in great shape. Thanks to your support, this Kickstarter campaign will provide us the means to deliver some great adventures with top-notch production values. Thank you!

Today, I'd also like to spotlight the work of Val Semeiks. Val started illustrating for us back when we published Joseph Salvador's Forgotten Fane of the Coiled Goddess. Val went on to produce many great illustrations for the AS&SH hardback, including the frontispieces for each internal "volume". Val's work is a feature in the forthcoming adventure module by Corey Walden, The Anthropophagi of Xambaala

Here is Val's cover for The Anthropophagi of Xambaala, with colours by Daisey Bingham:

Val did a lot of sketches of the cannibals found in The Anthropophagi of Xambaala, some of which will be seen in the module. Here is a great example:

Val's notes are a nice way to get an inside glimpse at the careful thought that went into the appearance of the cannibals — this after several brainstorming sessions we had together in late 2016.

If you love the artwork of Val Semeiks as much as I do, be sure to check out his new website at http://www.valsemeiks.com/

Kickstarter Campaign Halfway Through!
about 6 years ago – Fri, Mar 30, 2018 at 04:44:01 PM

Gaming fellows,

We are about 50% through the HYPERBOREA: Beasts and Cannibals Kickstarter campaign, and it is going well! I am thrilled to see that so many gamers find value in solid adventure modules. These two new adventures are going to inject a lot of fun (and frights!) into your AS&SH games.

The Anthropophagi of Xambaala is a great way to start a new campaign, with several pages dedicated to the town. Several locations have been developed, whilst the remainder is yours to develop to your tastes. The main adventure is a great challenge for players old and new, and there are plenty of seeds for further escapades.

The Beasts of Kraggoth Manor is a great adventure module for challenging mid-level adventurers. This site-based adventure is located in the hoary wilderness northeast of the City-State of Khromarium, and features the weird and storied history of a lost family.

These two adventures will contain beautiful art. Today, I'd like to share a few illustrations by two of our artists, Johnathan Bingham and Del Teigeler. These two have been producing high-quality art for AS&SH  for years now, and they never disappoint. North Wind Adventures is very fortunate to have them on the team!

As I write this update, we grow closer to unlocking our third stretch goal -- bookmarks! These 2 x 6-inch bookmarks have been well received in our past modules, The Mystery at Port Greely, Ghost Ship of the Desert Dunes, Forgotten Fane of the Coiled Goddess, and Beneath the Comet

It's not too late to help this Kickstarter reach its potential! Sharing on FaceBook, Twitter, G+, forums, and blogs really works, and it is truly appreciated. When the campaign is through, you will be able to pledge for add-ons through BackerKit, such as our newest T-shirt design. It features the cover art for The Beasts of Kraggoth Manor:

Over 350 Backers! New Artist Spotlight!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Mar 26, 2018 at 06:48:12 PM

Fellow gamers,

We have exceeded 350 backers for our latest Kickstarter, HYPERBOREA: Beasts and Cannibals! Thank you for supporting these two new adventure modules. If you can, please share the project's link at your favorite social media site. It makes a difference, exposing the campaign to fellow gamers who otherwise may not know about it, and it can also help us unlock the next stretch goal: bookmarks

Here is the projects's direct link for you to copy and paste: http://kck.st/2FKThHO

In addition to many of our usual hard-working and talented artists / cartographers (Daisey Bingham, Johnathan Bingham, Andreas Claren, Peter Mullen, Glynn Seal, Val Semeiks, Jason Sholtis, and Del Teigeler), we have brought in a new artist. Please welcome Diogo Nogueira! Diogo has a unique style, and he is fitting in nicely with the other artists. Here are a few of his spectacular pieces so far:
